ADVERTISE ON COUNCIL WEEKLY
Coming soon, advertising opportunities on Council Weekly.
Ads will be 336x280 pixels, an industry-standard banner which translates extremely well on both computer screens as well as mobile devices without the need for multiple-device formatting (switching over to a different banner size when site identifies mobile device use).
Council Weekly is, by design, simplified and judicious with color application. This is for ease of read (unlike CNN.com, which can be mind-boggling information overload to some) , but also so that the site does not compete with brightly-colored ads with eye-grabbing graphics.
BUT, I DON'T HAVE A WEBSITE BANNER TO PLACE ON YOUR SITE...
If one does not yet possess such banner ads, Council Weekly will be more than happy to design an ad for you (the publisher is by trade an illustrator and graphic designer). Better yet, since the sizing is an industry standard, the banner can then be applied to multiple sites for increased commerce opportunities. Once you have it, it's yours.
WHERE ARE THEY PLACED...
Depending on the length of the story, article pages may have one or two ad placements per. The featured cartoons of the week (displayed on the Main Page) will have two ad placement beneath the toon to balance the page content. These placements apply to recent articles, ongoing articles (such as the progress of SB411), and recent featured cartoons. Archived articles and cartoons older than several weeks will have no banner placements.
Region pages will have two -- one just below the region map, and one nestled between the Neighborhood Council listings. Maps will have either one placement (NC Region map) or two (City/County District Map).
The goal is to place the ads where eyes will fall upon them. A local business in, say, Venice, might wish to advertise on the Region 11 page, whereas an area-wide business may wish to advertise on a map page.
HOW MUCH...
When Council Weekly is ready to launch CW ads, prices will be available upon request. There will be multiple ad discounts, as well as discounts for extended-stay placements. Since CW is brand new, the aim is to increase traffic first, then extend a welcome to advertise on the platform.
